My Childhood | Dream | (Black History)

My Black History
My Black History
I grew up in rural North Carolina with 6 other brothers and sisters. We lived in a 3-bedroom house that was not much more than a box. My mother often called it so (matchbox house). It irritated her that the house she had been sold was not the house that was built for her and her 7 children. She has been swindled by "the man". It was a common occurrence in those days, especially in North Carolina.

Now don't go getting your shorts in a bunch. I'm just relaying my Black history, the way it was. We were poor, but I didn't know we were poor. Everyone around us pretty much lived the same way we did. We all lived in houses with large numbers of people. Outside in the yard, dogs roamed freely. A swing waved in the breeze from an awesome tree in the backyard. Our clothes flapped in the wind and made a snapping sound. (That made me smile - my history).

I dreamed of getting as far away from that lifestyle as I possibly could and I managed to do just that. I have traveled to Kenya, East Africa; London, England; the Philippines; Rome, Italy; Canada and Hawaii.

I accomplished that dream and then some (even though I had become a teenage mom and a wife at age 16) , but the one dream that I held in my heart was to build orphanages for children who have no home.

I was impressed by the Shirley Temple movies that I watched as a child and it seemed that she was always left behind, left out, thrown away and in some way met with a terrible fate. Yet, even in those movies, there was Black history, in the face of the round faced kitchen maid or the long, lanky tap-dancing house-boy (full grown/old man). But the treatment of a child without parents, many times hateful and inconsiderate, triggered a longing in my heart to build orphanages where children are loved and treated with care and kindness.

This is the dream that my Black History has given me.

Though the dream is yet unfulfilled, I still have a dream. This year, 2016 I pledge all my efforts to building at least one orphanage in Africa. And that's just for starters. I know in America we have at least 1 million homeless children on the streets. We don't like to see it and don't like to admit it, yet there it is. We want to somehow make it their fault that they are on the streets, begging. I start in Africa because that is my seed for the harvest of many orphanages in
America. God told me to do it this way, and I've decided to submit my dream to his will. In this way, the history, the Black History, that God has ordained for my life will surely come to pass. I'm working while it's day.

"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.- Habakkuk 2:3

They are my WHY. I'll be launching a fundraising campaign in the near future with Total Life Changes. Proceeds will go to the Orphans & Widows fund but it will also help those suffering with obesity as well as those struggling with their finances. I have a dream and I have a plan. With God on my side, or rather, me on his side, I can't lose.

If you know anyone who wants to lose 5lbs in 5 days and wants to make an extra $500 - $1000 a month, inbox me on FaceBook or email me @ yourmareketplaceapostle@gmail.com. Together, we can rock the world. #changinglivesoneatatime #totallifechanges #successinlife
