Are You Sure There're No Monsters Under Your Bed?

It’s easy to give in to depression. As an entrepreneur, I can truly say this is the monster under the bed for me. When things are not happening as I had planned or hoped, and I'm not getting the results needed in my business, I feel the need to check under the bed (so to speak).

I lay in bed asking myself what was happening to me.  The answer comes back: what you are allowing to happen. Nothing can happen to you that does not happen through you. You are in control of your destiny. Where do fears come from? They come from within you. Fear is the negative conversation you have with yourself about yourself and is usually a one sided conversation. You sit there listening to the negative talk and ultimately, without even realizing it, you begin to agree with it. Once you are in agreement with fear, all progress ceases and you withdraw from the movement of life. When you withdraw, people say you are DEPRESSED.

Depression is defined as a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. In order to defeat depression, let go of the feeling of sadness and never, never, never lose interest. Stop listening to the lie in your mind that keeps replaying. Change the tape. It’s your CD. You can change it at will, if you will! Take one negative comment and say it out loud. Then formulate the opposite of that comment and speak that out loud. Acknowledge the feeling when you speak either and decide to keep repeating whichever one makes you feel the best.
Definition of mood is: a frame of mind disposed or receptive. The definition of the word “depress”:

to lessen the activity or power of something – vocabulary.com

Cast down, dispirited, dejected, crushed – google dictionary

To lower in the amount of value; to make sad or gloomy; to lower in spirits

No one can do that to you. You do it to yourself. This is why peer pressure is a myth or at best an excuse to blame someone else for the choices that you decide to make.

The truth is: you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind – your subconscious, deep down inside of your mind. Replace every lie or negative thought with the opposite, positive truth. There may be monsters under your bed, but they have no power over you. You are absolutely more than a conqueror and the "monsters" are afraid of you.
